I recently stated at an interview on Today Tonight Channel 7, that the results from liposuction do not depend on various technologies (‘tools’), but on the experience, training and care of the surgeon. I speak from 24 years experience, and having been a pioneer of the use of ultrasound and laser liposuction surgery some time ago.
In the early days of liposuction practitioners used canulae (suction tubes) of relatively large diameter compared to those used today. Despite this, excellent results were produced by those with the attributes described above.
On the other hand, fine canulae in themselves do not produce good results, nor does the use of ultrasound, laser or other technologies unless they are accompanied by the necessary skills and care of those using them.
Also, in seeking a reputable practitioner you are advised to have a consultation with more than one surgeon. You will then have realistic expectations, and hopefully would have found a particular practitioner you feel you could trust to produce the results you seek.
