Thread Lifting

  Comments:    Back

What is a simpler, safer, less expensive and therefore more attractive alternative?

Lifting of the facial soft tissues can be achieved by Thread Lifting which produces a subtle but significant lift which is around 20-25% of a facelift. The effect is to look refreshed and rested but still recognisably you.

There are several other modalities of treatment that can be complimentary to a Thread Lifting procedure and themselves will improve the appearance even without a lifting procedure. These include microdermabrasion, good quality topical creams and lotions, the use of fillers and even some laser therapies that can improve skin quality.

The lost volume of the soft tissues can be replaced by a variety of fillers such as ‘Radiesse.’ I have found ‘Radiesse’ to be an exciting addition to sculpting the facial features. It has some outstanding characteristics.

It should be noted that no lifting procedure, whether it be the major procedure of an open facelift or the modern simpler and more subtle technique of Thread Lifting, can prevent the continual ageing of the soft tissues. In other words they should only be regarded as maintenance procedures that need updating from time to time. Lifting alone may not be sufficient for any one patient and volumetric replacement with safe, long-lasting, effective fillers –such as ‘Radiesse’, could be considered as an effective addition to optimise aesthetic appearances.
