Liposuction was introduced to the world in the late 70 s/ early 80 s by an Italian cosmetic surgeon Giorgio Fischer and then popularized by a French gynaecologist, Yves Gerard-Illouz.
The French plastic surgery establishment was scathing in its criticism of the procedure as were the American plastic surgeons.
It was only after a group of non-plastic surgeons from the USA visited Illouz and were enthralled by his results that the plastic surgeons started to take notice and follow the lead of the other surgeons.
I was trained by three of these original American surgeons who were trained by IIlouz; Garry Fenno, Richard Dolsky and Julies Newman.
In my 25 years experience I have performed liposuction on 18 doctors and have trained a number of both plastic and cosmetic surgeons.
As Illouz quotes ~ 'On ne fait rien de grand lorsqu'on est passione'.~ you can do nothing that is great without being passionate about it!
